Kampot Accommodations
Kampot City is one
place to get a taste of provincial Cambodia, both rural and urban. Use the city
as a base to explore and tour the surrounding countryside and as a stepping
stone next to the beaches and islands of Kep, the Bokor Hill Station and the
rest of south-eastern Cambodia. Come the end of the day in Kampot, a little
riverside cafe or pub is a place to be, relaxing curb side over a drink,
watching the sun set behind the Elephant Mountains.
Accommodations
There are many rang
of hotels and guest houses in Kampot City proper or upriver. The city is
comparatively compact and most in-town hotels are within walking distance of
the popular riverfront area. Several stylish little places occupy colonial-era
buildings in the Old French Quarter, providing a uniquely Kampot experience.
There is also a cluster of a few budget places on ‘Guesthouse Street’. For a
more natural, secluded setting, a number of budget and mid-range guesthouses
dot the riverside stretching north from town, several kilometres up river.
